Mrs. Miller found this article written by the acclaimed author James Patterson.  Patterson discusses how to foster a love of reading in children, particularly in those children who are resistant to reading:

The article found at the link below stresses the importance of fostering curiosity in children.  This cause is paramount in my teaching.  When the rewards of learning become intrinsic, learning becomes a compulsion…something that children want and need to do!
