| Principal's Message
September 2, 2011 Dear Parents/Guardians, I hope everyone had a restful and an enjoyable summer vacation with family and friends. It is hard to believe that the start of another new school year is only a few days away! September 8, 2011 (Thursday) will be the first day of classes for all Valley View Middle School students. This will be a full day of school; therefore, students should bring lunch and a beverage. Friday, September 9th, is also a full day of school for all students. Homeroom begins promptly at 8:15 am and students are dismissed from school at 2:55 pm. Homeroom assignments, bus route information and parking regulations for student drop off/pick-up were mailed to each student on August 31 st . Student schedules will be distributed in homeroom on the first day of school. The school calendar/handbook will be distributed to the oldest child in each family on the first day of school. Please also remember to periodically visit the Valley View homepage at watchungschools.com for school news, events, supply lists, and so forth. Emergency Information cards, the Technology Use Agreement form, and the Media Release Permission form will be distributed to students on September 8th. These forms need to be completed and signed by appropriate individuals. All forms must be returned to homeroom teachers by Friday, September 9th. During the first several days of school, you will also be receiving information provided by the Watchung PTO, as well as, an opportunity to apply for student insurance through Bollinger and/or enroll in the school's milk program. Your prompt attention to the above matters will assist in making the new school year a safe and productive time for all students.
