Goals for the unit: 

Each student will be able to

     *calculate the area of a square, rectangle, and triangle.

     *use knowledge of squares, triangles, and rectangles to determine the area of an irregular shape.

     *determine the minimum and maximum area.

     *calculate the surface area of a three-dimensional object.

     *apply area skills to real life problem solving.

Math - For Kids - This site is part of our Houghton Mifflin text book. Students can reinforce skills he/she has been studying in class by clicking on Extra Practice. If he/she has a sheet with 1.4 on it, he/she can click on chapter 1, lesson 1.4, and practice that specific skill.

Leveled Practice Sheets - Use this site if you need a leveled practice sheet from the Houghton Mifflin text. You can download reteaching sheets, homework sheets, practice sheets, and enrichment sheets that correspond to each lesson in the text.

Study Island - Click on the Study Island link to complete test practice assignments given in class.
