PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Watchung Board of Education that a special meeting has been called for Monday, May 20, 2013 at 6:30 PM in the conference room at Valley View School, 50 Valley View Road. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss a collective bargaining agreement and/or negotiations related to it. Action may be taken.
The following dates are revisions to the calendar of the current school year (2012-2013)

The following dates are revisions to the calendar of the upcoming school year (2013-2014)

September 5 - Schools Closed - Rosh Hashanah

Candidate Kit for November School Election Is Available Online
The New Jersey School Boards Association has published an online Candidate Kit with information for citizens interested in running for a position on their local board of education in November. More than 500 school districts will conduct elections on Tuesday, Nov. 5, the date of the General Election.

The School Board Candidate Kit includes:

A county-by-county listing of information about the nominating petition, which is the document that gets a candidate's name on the ballot;

A description of how to become a board member, with frequently asked questions;

Important dates in the school election process;

Online candidate briefings where NJSBA staff explain what to expect if elected to a school board; and
-
School ethics information and resources for campaign reporting.

| TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Beginning on or about February 4, 2013 and continuing until approximately the end of April, 2013, New Jersey American Water will begin Phase II of the project to replace a water main on a section of Mountain Boulevard, from Brookdale Road to Wetumpka Lane. Construction will begin at 9:00 am and continue until 4:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays. Some Saturday construction may be necessary. Although Mountain Boulevard will not be closed, be prepared that traffic will be reduced to one lane, with alternating traffic directed by the Police Department. | |
