It is the mission of the Affirmative Action Office to ensure that the Watchung Borough School District maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to non-discrimination and affirmative action for all staff and students.

Complaint Procedures

Title IX

Federal regulations require that a school district post on the district’s website “All materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process.”

In compliance with the requirements of Title IX, 34 C.F.R. § 106.45 (b)(10), the Watchung Borough School District has provided required training to all Title IX personnel including the District’s Title IX Coordinator(s), Investigator(s), Decision-Maker(s), and Facilitator(s). This training can be viewed by accessing the resources below from the U.S. Department of Education – Office for Civil Rights:

Why is the Board of Education having a referendum?

The Board is committed to providing a first-rate educational experience for all students. In the development of its long-range facilities plan (LRFP), the board identified facility infrastructure and renovation projects that will allow the district to ensure the continued safe operation and maintenance of its school buildings and create new learning opportunities by transforming outdated rooms into 21st-century learning spaces.
