Warm Holiday Wishes

Dear Parents and School Community Members,

The school year is moving swiftly, and as we look forward to the start of our annual winter break this afternoon, I write with warm wishes for joy and peace during the holidays for you and your families. I am grateful for our students and staff and for the support of the Watchung community.

Today, our eighth-graders enjoyed WHRHS’s annual chorus concert for the sending districts at the high school, while our younger students at Valley View watched online. Our Bayberry students all came together for their holiday sing-along tradition this morning. Regardless of age or grade level, all our students have been enjoying the warmth of community this month, with our staff leading the way.

On behalf of our Board of Education, I extend our very best wishes to you and your family for a safe, healthy holiday season and good fortune in the new year. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Very truly yours,

George P. Alexis

With school security as our number one priority, I am writing to inform you that we had to communicate with the police last night regarding a report from elementary students.

Why is the Board of Education having a referendum?

The Board is committed to providing a first-rate educational experience for all students. In the development of its long-range facilities plan (LRFP), the board identified facility infrastructure and renovation projects that will allow the district to ensure the continued safe operation and maintenance of its school buildings and create new learning opportunities by transforming outdated rooms into 21st-century learning spaces.
