The preschool program at Bayberry Elementary School is open to all Watchung Borough resident children who are 3 and 4 years of age. Applications are for general education children who are not eligible for special education and related services as a Preschool Child with a Disability. If a parent suspects that their child has a developmental delay and may be eligible for special education and related services, the parent should refer the child to Nicole DiTota, Director of Special Services, at nditota@watchungschools.us or (908) 755-3460. If a child meets the Kindergarten cutoff and will be 5 years of age on or before October 1, 2023, they are not eligible for the district’s preschool program for the 2023-24 school year. 

The Preschool at Bayberry School runs five days per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:45-3:25, and follows the Watchung Borough School District Calendar. The cost is $850.00 per month, or $8,500.00 for the school year.

The Preschool at Bayberry School follows the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, a comprehensive curriculum supported by research and aligned with the New Jersey Teaching and Learning Expectations.  

Transportation is not provided to or from Bayberry School for peers in the preschool program. 

Preschoolers are eligible to participate in the Before and After Care Programs at Bayberry School. Information on those programs and their costs can be found on the district’s Before and After Care Programs website. 

Applications for general education children are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Upon completion of the application, families will be notified of their enrollment status. Once notified of acceptance, families will register, provide proof of residence, sign a contract, and pay a non-refundable $200.00 deposit to complete the enrollment process.  

A separate application is required for each child.
