Dear Parents and Staff,
It has been brought to our attention that an individual at Valley View has tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, the individual was not in school during the infectious period. Accordingly, our local health official has advised us that there are no close contacts in the school setting. The individual will be in isolation and not present in school until the requirements for a safe return are satisfied.
It also has been brought to our attention that an individual at Valley View and two individuals at Bayberry have developed COVID-compatible symptoms. Because our region is in the high risk category, we must treat these cases as “probable positives.” The individuals will be in isolation and not present in school until the requirements for a safe return are satisfied. In consultation with our health official, we have completed contact tracing and advised any close contact to quarantine. Meanwhile, we will continue to follow our strict cleaning protocols in school.
We are committed to maintaining confidentiality of the members of our school community and cannot provide any additional information. We wish a full and speedy recovery for the individuals who are ill.
In the meantime, please continue to help us keep our community safe by following the health protocols, including staying home when sick and encouraging social distancing, handwashing, and the wearing of face coverings. Please also continue to complete the daily screening form in Genesis, so that we can monitor any symptoms and be prepared for any required contact tracing in the future.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during these difficult times.
Very truly yours,
George P. Alexis
