Important Message from the Superintendent, 12-9-2020

 Office of the Superintendent

December 9, 2020

Dear Parents and Staff,

It has been brought to our attention that an individual at Bayberry has tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, the individual was not in school during the infectious period. Accordingly, our local health official has advised us that there are no close contacts in the school setting. The individual will be in isolation and not present in school until the requirements for a safe return are satisfied. Meanwhile, we will continue to follow our strict cleaning protocols.

It was also brought to our attention that one of the symptomatic individuals at Bayberry reported in yesterday’s message has tested negative. We were very pleased to hear that news. Unfortunately, however, we were advised that the probable positive case at Valley View reported in Monday’s message has been confirmed with a positive test result. Again, as reported on Monday, contact tracing was completed and any close contact was advised to quarantine.

We are committed to maintaining confidentiality of the members of our school community and cannot provide any additional information. We wish a full and speedy recovery for the individuals who are ill.

In the meantime, please continue to help us keep our community safe by following the health protocols, including staying home when sick and encouraging social distancing, handwashing, and the wearing of face coverings. Please also continue to complete the daily screening form in Genesis, so that we can monitor any symptoms and be prepared for any required contact tracing in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during these difficult times.

Very truly yours,

George P. Alexis
