Dear Parents and School Community Members,
At last night’s board meeting, we shared that our plan is to move to a mask-optional approach once the state mask mandate expires on March 7. We are pleased that the Covid cases continue to decline across our area and the state, but we want to remind you that this current plan is contingent on the course of the pandemic. If another surge occurs locally or statewide, we would likely have to return to a mandatory mask policy. Please also note the mask-optional approach will not apply to the buses, because according to the state, federal regulations require mask wearing on school buses.
For now, the more difficult issue involves addressing the revised health guidance, which was recently released. We will be working with our local health official next week to determine how the revised guidance will affect our current Covid protocols and will provide an update as soon as we can.
Also last night, we presented a midyear update on student achievement and progress toward our district goals. The PowerPoint is available on our district website, and the presentation can be viewed on the recording of last night’s board meeting.
Thank you for your ongoing support
