Dear Parents and School Community Members,
As a follow-up to Governor Murphy’s announcement about the expiration of the state mask mandate, effective March 7, we want you to know that we will continue monitoring the Covid data in our region, follow the evolving state health guidance, and consult with our local health official in an effort to determine the most appropriate path forward.
We have been told that the NJDOH is preparing revised health guidance, but we have not been told when it will be completed. The revised guidance will play an important role in our decision regarding the district’s approach to masking after the state mandate expires on March 7. We will keep you apprised.
We also want you to know that the Board of Education is moving back to fully in-person meetings and discontinuing the hybrid options of public participation through Zoom, effective at the next meeting on February 24. We will continue the practice of accepting written public comments through email or regular mail received at least 24 hours before the meeting. We also will continue posting the videos of the meetings on the district website.
Meanwhile, please know we remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Thank you for your ongoing patience and support.
